Testimonials - Zero Balancing
Hilly & Sarah
Hilly, a 16 year old Haflinger mare suffered from uneven hips and was un-level. She has also been diagnosed with minor arthritis in her hocks and has remedial shoes that are slightly elevated (3mm) to help support the hocks. With EBT Hilly has improved considerably -- so much so she is very strong from behind and is more comfortable when being schooled.
A lot of EBT work has been done on her hind quarters and shoulders to keep her balanced and soon after any work is done she responds quickly and well. From being and looking "lame" she starts to work beautifully and tracks up well. Like any treatment it takes a little while for Hilly to appreciate it is not going to hurt anymore and once encouraged to move, realises it is better than she thought! She floats and moves using her back end and not stomping on the fore or crossing over.
Her canter has now improved as she is more balanced and her fitness is improving as well -- the EBT allows us to move on and learn more -- some days EBT treatment is given and rest is required but again it is not long before the results can be seen.
EBT also had taught me to recognise her "signs" of discomfort sooner and she can be treated before it progresses into something more -- a bit like a preventative treatment! There are exercises and stretches that we (ok me) can learn and do before I ride so she is supple and relaxed.
The treatment is easy and inoffensive and Hilly enjoys it so much she never leaves Julie alone! Teachers pet is not the word! There is no problem with join up and this to me proves that EBT works and is comfortable for the horse who understands there is no pain involved only comfort and relief. She is comfier and happier after treatment and that is worth its weight in gold!
Zero Balancing Therapy
So after my horse had had all this lovely treatment I thought that I, as the rider, would give it a go! Couldn't have a well horse with an un-level, twisted rider -- that would take us back to square one! So I had some treatments.
First let me explain that I have suffered with a back problem for years. I have had physio, chiropractic treatment, manipulation and all sorts of sports massages (some very painful) along with numerous trips to the doctors to no avail as to what is exactly wrong with me. I have had 2 slipped discs and suffer with pain in the lumber region daily -- I think I have shares in Nurofen! ! ! Other symptoms included trapped nerves in the neck, tight shoulders and sore knees along with headaches, indigestion and tiredness. Zero balance from the start worked well with me. Like the horsey treatment it is not invasive and at first you don't think much is being done..... that is until the next day when you feel like you have been hit by a truck!
It is very relaxing and brings a lot of relief, especially as I was unaware of holding myself Sometimes the muscles would twitch but after gently stretches and manoeuvres it would reduce. I had rotated hips and a dropped right shoulder and hip. After several sessions covering a few months the rotation in the hips gradually reduced and it was easier to correct the other symptoms. I was experiencing less pain on a daily basis and learning to carry myself correctly. The treatments became longer periods apart and once a treatment was had I felt taller and lighter (I wish) usually slept very well that night and could move without pain and discomfort.
Zero balancing therapy has improved my life in a way I could have only hoped for. Don't get me wrong, I am not cured but I am in such a better place and learning to look after myself and Hilly that I would recommend this treatment to anyone of any age with any condition. You very rarely experience pain whilst being treated and it is what your body recognises as good!
