Bev & Toffee -Toffee's first & follow on EBT sessions
This was written after one EBT session, which had been requested because Toffee in all of Toffee's recent dressage sheets there had been comments made that he was un-level, particularly on the left rein. This has not happened since his EBT session.
Have been going to email you to give you an update but life has been hectic. The old chap Toffee (21 years old), has been doing well and I have hopefully been putting your advice into action. The "use an aid once" and expect a response has really helped and also the getting the hind leg underneath . I am more conscious of my position as well.
As far as his activities since we saw you:
Got 2nd and 3rd at Tenbury Agricultural show in the pouring rain. 1st time we have been to a show with prize money.
At Burwarton he won his dressage -"pick your own test". You could have knocked me over with a feather. He thoroughly enjoyed himself in the grand parade.
Then this weekend I took him to a cross country clinic at Bissell Wood, and he jumped his little socks off and showed the young ones a thing or two. Just wanted him to go out and have a bit of structured fun. He was complimented on the fact that his flat work was good and that we had an understanding on the flat which then made the jumping much easier.
To say he is enjoying life is an understatement.
That's probably about it. He has a championship at Allens Hill on Aug 31st (prelim) and a showing class on Sat 29th.
At the moment I think I am the less supple of the 2 of us. Let me know if you think we would benefit from another session.
This email was sent soon after Toffee and Bev's second EBT session
I wanted to let you know how Toffee has been since his second EBT session.
Have been trying to find time to email you as so much to say!!
He was a star and won a bronze medal in the main competition (my podium picture may be in H and H this week)!!
He was a real gent and thoroughly enjoyed himself and being stabled for 3 days. He had to do 5 tests. 3 were warm ups, but he consistently got 70% and above in all 5.
Still need to pinch myself to believe it.
Will send a couple of pictures, sorry about the rushed mail but a big thanks for your part you played in it.
